Set up a Young Chamber in your School
 |
We have secured funding from the Department for Children, Schools and Families to support a Young Chamber in an additional three schools in Herefordshire and Worcestershire from September 2009. The method of recruitment and selection of these schools is yet to be decided but we would love to hear from interested staff, students and schools.

For Schools Joining Young Chamber in Herefordshire and Worcestershire:
The Chamber of Commerce will:
- Provide a dedicated member of staff to support Young Chamber development.
- Identify and encourage representatives of local businesses to work with schools on Young Chamber initiatives and projects.
- Support career development by assisting schools with mock interviews, business speakers etc.
- Help to identify businesses that would be appropriate for workplace/factory visits.
- Assist in gaining publicity for Young Chamber initiatives and projects in schools.
- Provide networking opportunities for teachers with representatives of local businesses.
The School will:
- Identify a link contact within the school to the Chamber.
- Facilitate the information of a Young Chamber Council within the school.
- Encourage and allow Young Chamber activities to take place within the school both within the school day and outside.
- Publicise Young Chamber activities and achievements in conjunction with the Chamber when appropriate.
- Return reports each term on Young Chamber activities to Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber in the form required by the Young Chamber organisation.
As part of the Young Chamber network, a school is investing in the future of its students, empowering them to shape their own educational experience and offering exciting ways to gain an understanding of business and all of the incredible opportunities in the workplace.
