The Chamber of Commerce Herefordshire and Worcestershire represents its members in the two counties to make sure your views are heard and in our activity we draw on the expertise and experiences of our members.
Members of Parliament
Members meet regularly with Herefordshire and Worcestershire MPs to bring about improvements to local services and input into the work of central government. This includes such issues as transport infrastructure, skills and other topical issues. If you would like to attend a meeting contact the Policy Team.
Local Government
The Chamber regularly meets with senior members and officers of the two Counties Local Authorities to press for improvements on planning, regeneration, image, infrastructure and a wide range of issues to improve the performance of local businesses.
The Chamber is involved in local partnership groups where we work with other organisations to deliver improvements in all aspects of economic and community life, helping to shape developments in our two Counties. In all of this activity we draw on the expertise and experience of our members. We organise regular meetings with senior officials from the Bank of England to brief them on the economy in 'Herefordshire and Worcestershire'. Through these meetings and the Chamber’s regular 'Quarterly Economic Survey' we are able to have a direct influence on the Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee, as well as other Government departments. The surveys have an impact on policy in the UK, with all the accredited Chambers of Commerce across the Country asking their members the same questions at the same time.
