Representing you in Worcestershire

The Chamber’s Policy Team works with a range of local decision makers and representatives to ensure that local business interests are always considered when developing policy. The Chamber works to raise awareness of business barriers and issues by lobbying local Council departments (e.g. planning issues), and works with Council officers and leaders on larger issues that have an impact on communities (such as Local Growth Frameworks). The Chamber also maintains regular dialogue with MPs and MEPs across the two counties, working throughout the year on a range of initiatives.
Consultations Worcestershire's Sustainable Community Strategy

The Worcestershire Partnership is responsible for the production of a Sustainable Community Strategy (SCS) which sets out the strategic vision for Worcestershire and focuses activity on what is needed in the short term to improve the quality of life of people who live, visit or work in the county.

In September 2010, the Worcestershire Partnership Management Group approved proposals for a single Sustainable Community Strategy for Worcestershire. In the past there have been individual strategies for each of the district councils, plus a countywide strategy.

Having a single SCS enables county and district Local Strategic Partnerships (LSPs) to streamline their processes and articulate priorities in light of reduced resources. It also improves links between countywide theme groups and the delivery of priorities in districts and helps establish a robust local vision to underpin future and flexible partnership delivery arrangements.

The Worcestershire Partnership Board recently approved the new strategy and a copy is available here
