Sources of Finance and Business planning

One of the biggest barriers to starting a business can be finding the money to get the whole thing off the ground.

A range of options exist dependent on the scale and sector of your potential business. To make it easier, the Chamber can provide you with access to a funding finder that will help you to establish what sources of funding are available. The banks are usually a good source of funding and will often provide special terms if you are starting a business. Take a look at our access to finance page to determine the types of finance available.
Hopefully you are now at the stage where you have considered some of the start up basics and the type of finance that might be available. Writing a business plan will help you to obtain funding and understand the factors that impact on your success. Business plans don't need to be long, but they will help you to define what you need to do and help you to measure your achievements.

There is lots of free information online that will help you write a business plan. The Chamber can also provide you with access to a range of resources.
