The Chamber of Commerce recognises the importance of all businesses to local communities. 

Some businesses have a critical role to play, because they employ a large number of people, they are based in a rural community, are developing important technologies or export their products to overseas markets.  However strategic businesses often encounter barriers to growth, which can halt their plans for expansion or stop them from achieving their business objectives.

Over the last two years the Chamber of Commerce has proactively engaged with over 70 strategic businesses, operating a dedicated account management service that supports them to achieve their business objectives.  Many strategic businesses become frustrated because they are not a SME and therefore traditional business support is not available.
